Identity in America

Title

Identity in America

Description

Using American Census data and story-telling, Anita Coleman shares how an American Identity is also an Anti-racist Identity. The US Census categorizes people using skin color labels but we're under no obligation to do so (e.g. "white" and "black" etc.) But no matter what national origins, faith, and cultural identity we claim, we can also proudly claim the American identity of being an anti-racist. The goal of anti-racism is racial equity. This is a presentation to the Women Drivers Interfaith Group on March 27, 2019, at the Orange County Islamic Center, Mission Viejo, CA. 30 slides.
