Description
The Four Hijabs is an animated short film that uses an Arab-Feminist lens to explore the multiple meanings of four hijabs mentioned in 16 Quranic verses. The goal is to help American Muslims construct an anti-racist identity that does not oppress or marginalize anybody. It is also an entertaining and easy way to engage with the complex ideas surrounding the hijab.
The Four Hijabs is also inspired by ideas in Dr. Manal Hamzeh's book Pedagogies of DeVeiling: Muslim Girls and the Hijab Discourse (2012).
